In January of 2023 we came home from an overseas holiday visiting family for the first time since the covid lock downs put a stop to all that. When we got home around midnight we found the water supply to our fridge leaking. The ground floor of our home was under water and the beautiful wood floor that our children grew up on was water logged and not salvageable.
It took months to dry the floor out. Most of our furniture was ruined. The kitchen needed to be replaced. As we started to fix all the issues from the leak we found a multitude of other water related problems.
Ultimately it took almost a full year to get back into our home, it impacted the whole family, it was probably the worst year of our lives .
2 years on and we want to take what we have learned and help other people make sure they never have to suffer through the same experience we have.
Our first product is the gutter shark which will be available shortly.
It's easy to set up, simple to install and gives you an early warning if your gutters are getting blocked. When water starts to back up it will raise the alarm and fix the issue before you have water running down your walls.
We've been working on this for the last 2 years, Infact we have an early prototype installed in our own gutter that has saved us 15k AUD in unnecessary repairs and given us the peace of mind that our gutters are working perfectly. Its still going strong on its first set of batteries.. We also have a number of prototypes installed in gutters around the Sydney area. We know the gutter shark works but we are still working to create a product that is extremely easy to install. Unfortunately that takes time and money but we think ease of use is critical.
